About Chez Shea

Hi, I'm Carolyn Chauncey, the founder and CCO (Chief Candle Officer) of Chez Shea Custom.

I grew up in the North End of Palm Beach, the youngest of 4 siblings and the only girl. After college, I left Palm Beach for the bright lights of New York City, where I established a media career, which I continue to grow and foster.

In 2022, my husband and I decided to move to Florida to help my aging mother and begin the second chapter of our lives. As interest in my candles expanded and custom orders started to flow in from all parts of the country, I decided to formalize Chez Shea Custom as a Florida LLC and manifest my passion for candle making into something greater.

A lot of people have asked me, "Why Chez Shea?" My husband is Raymond Shea, and Chez Shea is an homage to my marriage and the continuous support Ray provides as I work a full-time remote job in New York, provide care for my mother, raise our new lab puppy, and, yes, build the Chez Shea Custom empire.
